SHELL CARDAMOM PIPELINE INITIATION

23 March 2014

The Noble Jim Thompson MODU provided drilling and completion services for the Shell Cardamom development. The rig presented a number of unique challenges including a relatively close proximity to the Auger TLP as well as numerous complexities regarding infield infrastructure, and multiple seafloor anomalies.

Meeting these project challenges required detailed support through Delmar Systems’ specialized mooring pile technology and expertise. This expertise was proven in a combined 12-line system that used suction piles and modified piles to provide a pull-in foundation allowing SIMOP’s execution of the pipeline installation. The two infield flowlines were successfully installed under the MODU by the Deep Blue reel lay vessel without impacting drilling operations.
