Chevron – Bigfoot
Between Friday, May 29 and Sunday, May 31, 2015, several pre-installed tendons of the Big Foot platform lost buoyancy and sank to the bottom on the ocean.
Delmar Systems accepted the challenge to regain the functional use of the TLP mooring foundation and enable the project to continue. Without the success of Delmar Systems’ subsea team, the future of the project was uncertain.
Delmar Systems provided cutting and removal support for 9 tendons and safely removed the obstructions from the pile foundation. Innovate equipment and methods were required to safely execute a 4-month program to revive the Bigfoot project and ensure the integrity of the foundation and existing well infrastructure.
