DEEP SEA MOORING COMMENCE WORK WITH MOORING CONTRACT ON NORWEGIAN CONTINENTAL SHELF
Deep Sea Mooring has commenced operations with the newly awarded contract to provide pre-lay mooring products and services to the Deepsea Bergen semi-submersible drilling rig on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Austrian oil & gas company OMV has deployed the semi-submersible rig to support drilling activities in the region.
With operations coordinated out of DSM’s equipment base in Mongstad, Norway the pre-lay mooring equipment and services provided will include chain, fibre ropes, anchors, connectors, buoyancy and handling equipment as well as mobilization and demobilization services. The contract with OMV also follows DSM’s successful provision of mooring services to the Island Innovator rig earlier in 2017.
“Today’s announcement reinforces Deep Sea Mooring’s position as the leading provider of mooring solutions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” said Dan Pedersen, Vryhof’s Commercial Director.
He continues: “From our high quality equipment - where clients can access the full service history of every single component - through to our in-house subject matter experts and years of operational experience across the region, we are ideally positioned to capitalize on the industry upturn.”
Deepsea Bergen is a third generation semi-submersible drilling rig of an Aker H-3.2 design, currently on contract to OMV at the Haltenbanken area, approximately 280 km north of Kristiansund with a water depth of 342 meters.
