MOORING LINE REPLACEMENT ON DEEPWATER FACILITY SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
In July 2017, Delmar Systems completed a mooring line replacement on a deepwater facility in the Gulf of Mexico.
The mooring line sections were composed of 127 mm partially sheathed spiral strand wire. Delmar Systems was responsible for providing the complete engineering, project management, fabrication, and installation vessel package. The methodology was based on using a standard AHTS type vessel with an A-frame, offering significant overall cost-savings to the project. Delmar Systems’ scope included installation analysis, installation aid design and fabrication, vessel outfitting, sea-fastening, procedure development, vessel procurement including ROV and survey spreads, offshore operational personnel, and storage and marshalling of equipment at Delmar Systems’s Port Fourchon, LA shore base.
Dillon B. Shuler, P.E., Project Manager at Delmar Systems, said: “The project showcases our capabilities in providing turnkey project services and demonstrates that offshore construction work can be completed efficiently using typical AHTS vessels combined with our experienced engineering and operational planning. It was a very successful project, and I am proud of the Delmar Systems’ project team for completing the work incident free.”
