With the Transocean Spitsbergen’s recent eight-line mooring system acoustic release in the North Sea, the RAR PLUS has now surpassed 1,000 successful mooring line releases, marking a major milestone for the technology — with a perfect 100% release success rate.

This latest project brings the RAR PLUS cumulative total to over 67,385 days of RAR connected time on more than 130 rig locations across our global operations. No AHTS vessels were on location for the rig disconnection allowing for remarkable rig efficiency and cost savings for the operator.

"Across more than 1,000 deployments, the RAR PLUS continues to demonstrate unmatched reliability and efficiency," says Jørund Havnerås, Managing Director Delmar Systems Norway. This achievement has been made possible thanks to the dedication of our team — from planning to execution — and our customers who continually challenge us to innovate for safer, more efficient marine operations and reduced CO₂ emissions.

The RAR PLUS acoustic mooring line release system is redefining mooring best practices across all operating environments — including regions requiring ice or cyclone contingency. The technology includes an independent mechanical backup release that can be activated without ROV or AHTS support, providing ultimate operational flexibility. During five plus years of operations, only four mechanical RAR releases have been executed as backup to the primary acoustic activation — all performed smoothly and without delay or vessel assistance.

The RAR PLUS has set the standard for safe and efficient mooring, rig moves and marine operations across the world.
