Murphy/Prosafe Select Delmar Subsea Connector for First FPDSO

Delmar Systems Inc. has been awarded a contract to supply Delmar Subsea Connectors for the world’s first FPDSO (floating production, drilling, storage, and offloading) vessel for the Murphy West Africa “Azurite Project.” The FPDSO will be located in the Mer Profonde Sud Block in a water depth of 4593 feet and is scheduled for installation in late 2008. Delmar was awarded the supply contract by Prosafe, who is responsible for the conversion and installation of the FPDSO vessel.

The Delmar developed and patented connector technology is used with MODUs (mobile offshore drilling units) and permanent mooring installations to allow single vessel deployment of anchors and mooring lines. Delmar’s Subsea Connector provides for easy connect/disconnect capability with the use of a standard ROV. “We are pleased that Murphy and Prosafe have chosen our mooring connectors. Our connector is proven in the industry as this project marks the seventh permanent installation to use Delmar Subsea Connectors across the globe,” said Delmar’s Executive Vice President, Brady Como. Delmar’s Subsea Connector is the first mooring connector to receive Classification Society approval for use in permanent mooring systems.
