Objective: Deliver a full unique solution based upon suction pile mooring foundation technology to enable pipeline span support installation at multiple locations with flexibility in positioning proximity to the pipeline as well as vertical coarse adjustment via onsite ROV support.
Solution: Delmar performed design and installation engineering for subsea suction pile foundation that could accommodate the variability in lateral tolerances as well as enable the vertical installation of a pipeline connecting device that would support the extended free spans without requiring detailed metrology with site-specific fabrication requirements.
Summary: Delmar Systems, Inc. was awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction, (EPC) contract for the supply of five foundations at a span location requiring permanent support for the pipeline integrity.

Delmar Systems, Inc. was awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction, and installation (EPC) contract for the detailed design and fabrication of five (5) suction pile foundations to support an extended length of free-span export pipeline.
The free span rectification required flexibility in design and installation to allow a single campaign installation without the added complexity and cost of mobilization for a survey campaign for metrology measurements and equipment placement.
The suction pile foundation proved advantageous due to the robustness of base while allowing maximum flexibility in the installation / hook-up phase of the foundations and support structures. Critical to the plan was Delmar’s ability to ensure schedule and effectiveness of the final solution to ensure the pipeline span was secure and safe for first oil start-up and long-term continuous production operations for the life of the field.
