Engineering Technology Services
Our innovative engineering technology team uses and develops the best analytical tools and methods to provide practical marine engineering solutions for many types of offshore installations.
The accomplished engineering team at Delmar Systems works directly with our operations team to provide our clients with the best overall solutions to their challenges in marine environments. The Delmar design process uses integrated analytical and practical steps to achieve the goals of the project, while allowing for safe and cost-effective execution in the field.
The challenges our teams face vary considerably based on the environmental conditions and geographical constraints of a project. Using the latest and most advanced analysis techniques available, we provide site-specific mooring and offshore subsea services even in the most challenging locations in the world. Our engineering team provides full technical support for any location on the globe, from initial planning and design through permitting and installation in the field.
Mooring Analysis and Design
Delmar has extensive experience in designing and installing all types of mooring systems in a wide range of water depths. With our extensive experience, we can better optimize what you need on a site-specific basis, thus providing a high-performance mooring system that can be installed safely and efficiently.
Delmar Systems uses state-of-the-art mooring analysis software to develop Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs), Wave Drift Forces (WDF), frequency domain, and time domain analyses, all of which ensures code and regulatory compliance.
Anchor Technology and Mooring
Delmar has designed and developed proprietary anchoring technologies and mooring hardware, such as the RAR Plus, Delmar Subsea Connector (DSC), Delmar Chaser Stopper (DCS), Delmar Quick Release (DQR), Delmar Engineering Anchor Program (DEAP) and our OMNI-Max Anchor.
Risk and Environmental Consulting
Delmar’s ConStat™ Risk program is the leading industry assessment tool used to evaluate the risk associated with Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) mooring locations during hurricane and cyclone seasons. ConStat was the first full MODU mooring risk assessment tool offered to the industry in the wake of Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, and Rita and has been licensed to the US government for Gulf of Mexico mooring location approval. ConStat has evolved since 2006 with the input from regulators, industry experts, and participants in the 2007 MODU Mooring Risk Assessment JIP.
ConStat contains several key features that make it the most sophisticated and widely utilized assessment tool available to the industry today:
- Asset Database
- Delmar Wind Field Modeler
- MODU Mooring Risk Assessment JIP Risk Model
- Historical Hurricane Database
- Delmar Gulf of Mexico Production Matrix
Subsea and Special Equipment Design
Delmar offers a variety of open water and MODU-assisted subsea design and installation services, including design and fabrication of installation and handling tools, special equipment, and suction piles.
Vessel Design Support
Delmar has several professional naval architects and marine engineers on staff ready to provide vessel design support. Whether it is mooring arrangements, hydrodynamic response, or model testing support, Delmar has you covered for vessel design.
Using state of the art coupled hydrodynamic and cable dynamic analysis software, Delmar engineers analyze the complex motions associated with towing floating assets in irregular seastates. This establishes allowable seastates for the specific vessels and tow gear arrangements, which is essential to making informed operational decisions.
